Scott C Chapman is a professional Theatre Artist, working professionally as a Scenic Designer, Lighting Designer, Technical Director and Educator for almost 20 years. (select design credits) Scenic & Lighting Design for The Little Mermaid, and Lighting Design for Xanadu at The Prizery; Lighting Design for A Midsummer Night's Dream, Stranger Sings (workshop and premiere), Young Frankenstein, Steel Magnolias, Murder on the Orient Express, Guys & Dolls, Tempest, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, and Romeo & Juliet for Wolfbane Productions. Other credits include Lighting the World Premiere (Cleveland) and NYC premiere (Town Hall) of Kris Kringle The Musical, Company Manager for the 2019 Schenectady production of Kris Kringle The Musical, Scenic & Lighting Design for the Premiere of Eric Coble's My Barking Dog for Cleveland Public Theatre, and Lighting for Peter Pan, and Suite Surrender for the Blowing Rock Stage Company. Scott earned his BA in Theatre Design & Technology from SUNY Buffalo, and his MFA in Stage Design from Southern Methodist University. He is the Chair of the Design & Technical Division for the Virginia Theatre Association, and a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT). He is also actively involved with Farmville’s community theatre – Waterworks Players as a board member, director, scenic designer and lighting designer.
